A recent survey has revealed that, across the world, Youtube is the preferred platform for streaming services in comparison to Spotify.
The poll, which was conducted between users across the globe, showed a clear preference for Youtube. Of the 2841 worldwide respondents, 52.9% reported that they prefer Youtube, compared to 47.1% who chose Spotify as their preferred platform.
In Africa, the results were particularly weighted towards Youtube, with a 53.7% majority. South Americans also largely preferred Youtube, with 48.3% opting for it over Spotify, whereas North Americans showed the most distinct preference of all regions, with a 58% majority in favour of Youtube.
Europe, meanwhile, was the only region to hold an even balance, with just over half the respondents, 52.8%, preferring Youtube. The same is true for Asia, where the majority favoured Youtube, with 51.5% choosing it. Lastly, Oceanica was again a close battle, with 53.4% selecting Youtube as their preferred platform.
Ultimately, the results speak to the overall worldwide popularity of Youtube, with its user base spanning the globe.
