The iconic rivalry between two of world football's greatest players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, has been put to the test by fans all around the world in a recent survey. Out of a total of 3836 votes, the majority of fans concluded that Ronaldo is the superior player, with 65.7% of the votes.
Surprisingly, the Ronaldo vs Messi debate had almost an identical divide among African and South American fans, with 65.6% and 64.6% respectively in favour of Ronaldo. North American and European fans showed a slight increase in support for Ronaldo, with 66.6% and 64.8% respectively. Surprisingly, Asians showed the most support for Ronaldo, with 66.2%, and Oceanians following close behind with 66.5% of the votes in his favour.
Whilst the majority of fans agree that Ronaldo is the better player, Messi still has a large following and it is impressive that 34.3% of the votes were in favour of the Argentinian.
Overall, the survey shows that Ronaldo is the clear favourite among football fans all around the world, although Messi still has a strong support base and is in no way trailing behind. It is not surprising that this debate between two of the greatest footballers of all time continues to be one of the most discussed topics in the world's greatest game.
