A survey of 1,915 people from around the world has revealed that the most popular soft drink is Coca-Cola, with 50.1% of the vote. Pepsi came in second at 49.9%.
In Africa, Coca-Cola led with 50.1%, followed by Pepsi at 49.9%. South Americans also favored Coca-Cola, with 48.6% of the vote compared to Pepsi's 51.4%. North Americans narrowly chose Coca-Cola over Pepsi, at 50.9% to 49.1%.
Europeans had a more decisive opinion, choosing Coca-Cola 52.9% to 47.1%, and Asians showed a similar preference for Coca-Cola, 53.2% to 46.8%.
The final region surveyed was Oceania, in which 45.7% of people favored Coca-Cola over Pepsi's 54.3%.
The results of the survey make it clear that, even when comparing two almost identical drinks, Coca-Cola still appears to be the preferred beverage for most of the world.
